Bone Marrow is the sponge like tissue located in the median of the long bones. The primary function of the bone marrow is to provide erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets to the body. Since this is the primary function, the bone marrow is rich in stem cells. These cells can be used for many research purposes. First Choice Bio's Healthy Human Donor Whole Bone Marrow product is drawn from the post-iliac crest with a syringe containing Heparin as an anticoagulant. We are able to tap up to 4 sites at 25ml each for a total of 100ml per donor. All donors tested negative for HIV, HBV and HCV and are fully consented while all protocols are IRB approved.
